Experience of moderation

 At last, I have reached this section of my work. Well, due to Novikova Y.B. I have learned many-many-many things about which I didn't know anything at all. Really. THANK YOU! Yes, sometimes it was difficult to do all the tasks together with the weekly tasks, but it was worth that in any case!

I adore this project in spite of much time I have spent on it.. It's a marvellous practice for me in doing such things. I think, it's not bad.

Christmas Blog

My work as a moderator began in term V when we have launched the Christmas project. That project was marvellous, despite the fact that it was rather long and very difficult from different points of view. Many posts, many commentaries and 5 TESTS.. Oh.. Due to received information I could enrich my own vocabulary with words connected with Russian holidays.

It is a great sourse for those who are interested in culture of either English-speaking people (America and Britain, as well) or Russia, actually. Numerous daily posts about famous people's lives or international and traditional holidays will help you to understand better what English-speaking people are, what traditioanal holidays and customs are. What is more, due to this source you can learn when is the birthday of your favourite American actor, or singer, or sportsman, for example.

In the World of Movies Blog: Oscar Project
As I have already said, Oscar Project was a good opportunity to try to be in touch with events in which we, students of the faculty of foreign languages, are interested. What is more, we tried to predict who would be the best actor or actress or what picture could be the best one. May be our predictions were wrong, but the activity itself was excited. Grammar Blog

Grammar-grammar.. It is very difficult for us, to tell the truth. In this blog you can take many grammar rules (principal ones) to understand English grammar better and in an appropriate way. So, I was working on the field of 3rd-year grammar rules and mainly with my groupmates. For me, it was a good chance to learn how it's difficult to give right recommendations to the students and to see how they can do all the tasks in the wrong way or just do nothing. And I have understood greatly that the best gift to the teacher (moderator, as well) is the RESULT of his activity. Having seen the harvest of my work, I was really happy! =)

Well, this blog is another example of how a teacher can use blogs in teaching of the students and the result of the activity depends on how effectively he uses it.  To be honest, I don't think that our group's blog is used effectively, because our teacher don't take any part in its development.

Well, as a movie-goer, I'd like to say that this blog is my favourite one. When I had some time, I was watching different films of various genres and epochs in order to find any connections to what we havve nowadays. I mean civilisation. Culture. Education.  Customs and habits. Manners. So, I say :"THANK YOU" all those who moderated and helped to moderate this very blog. You have done a great job, because, you have done a very difficult, the so-called research work in this particular field. I was happy to find an interesting film for watching and thinking about, and this blog helped me greatly!

Methodology Blog

Methodology... Yes. It's good. Rather good. With the help of all the students, it has become the greatest source for teachers, who are familiar with spotlight.

This blog is one of the most intesting blogs in the Peddesign course. Most of all I like the idea of comparison (maybe not comparison, but connection or something else) among Russian, British and American actors and actresses. It's a good opportunity to decide what films are the best ones!

Conduct of an individual blog takes much time and energy, but it  is worth it! In view of the fact that we have only 3 lessons on Speech Practice a week and one of them is Home Reading, we lack necessary practice and control. So, individual blogs are excellent examples of how a teacher can check and control his students. And for us, as students, it is very-very useful, because we do all the tasks on time and try to have no debts or just several ones, which can be done in the nearest time. And, my personal opinion is that without a feedback this type of tasks has no any sense at all!

As we live in the 21st centure, the era of information technologies, we need some knowledge in operating Microsoft office programmes in order to be familiar with various techniques. And during our sessions of PEDDESIGN COURSE, we have learned many-many new things about which we knew before, but couldn't use them in an appropriate way.

So, Microsoft Word is a word-processing program that can perform many tasks in a corporate or university setting. From writing papers and filing reports to making fliers, you'll most likely use Microsoft Word at some point.

Ms Power Point

 Microsoft PowerPoint allows us to create presentation slide shows that can involve text, images, videos and sound. From background color to layout, we can either choose preset templates or create our own from scratch. What is more, before the peddesign course, I could do only simple presentations without any hyperlinks and impressive effects. What I have learned here will help me in my future job, I hope.

Ms Excel

Microsoft Excel is a program to create spreadsheets, charts and other number-heavy or organizational documents. So, now I have also some skills regarding Ms Excel. But it is rather difficult for me to use this programme, anyway.

So, I have created a grammar test "Tenses. Revision" and here are results of this test which are worked up with the help of Ms Excel

Audacity

Well-well-well... Audacity.. To tell the truth, I didn't know anything about this programme. Not only this very programme, but programmes of such a kind, because I never work with sounds. Audacity is rather simple, especially for beginners like me. Due to this programme, I have learned how to extract the background in audacity, to make vocals clear, to splice, to add vocal samples and some other things. I can prove it by this film, where I scored for sound myself:

Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker is a programme with the help of which you can easily turn photos and presentation slides into great-looking movies! As practice (my personal practice) shows, the more you do and think, the more you create. So we tried to create several movies of different types. The first movie was the most difficult, from my point of view (because it took much more time, than others). It was made with the help of described above "Audacity". The second and the third filmes were easier in creation, but better in technique. Check it:

Online Tasks

Firstly, about our forums. Frankly speaking, forums were very useful for us, as the third-year students of the faculty of foreign languages, because we need practice, our speech needs practice and our writing skills should be excellent, because we're future teachers (some of us, too be honest). So, this type of online tasks helped us in some way.

During the course we have learned how to take advantage of Google's specialized services. There are very useful either in studying or in teaching. 

ArtBabble

ArtBabble is a great source! The deth of the content makes the site exciting. Throughout the films on ArtBabble, "notes" appear on the right hand of the scene, attached to relevant points in the film. If another artist is referred to, a "note" links to their Wikipedia entry, if a news event crops up, there's a link to the newspaper report.  In a film about the Louvre's restoration of Greek and Roman sculptures, you'll be given an introduction to mosaic, a primer on Greek mythology and suggestions for further viewing. You can even attach your own notes to a relevant frame of the film, rather than in a comments section below.

Well, this very kind of online tasks is really great! Because now I can create any test on any theme without any problems! Moreover, I can publish results of the test myself and make conclusions on how effective I was in teaching! (as a future teacher of the English language)
